Binyamin Elon was a prominent Israeli figure, serving as both an Orthodox rabbi and a politician. Born in 1954, he went on to become a member of the Knesset, representing the Moledet and National Union parties from 1996 to 2009. Elon's life was deeply rooted in Jerusalem, where his family had lived for nine generations. He spent over twenty years residing in Beit El, a settlement in the West Bank, and was married to Emuna Elon, a notable author and journalist.

Elon's family was also marked by notable figures in Israeli society. His father, Menachem Elon, held the position of Deputy Chief Justice of Israel.
