Yeshayahu Leibowitz

Yeshayahu Leibowitz was a prominent Israeli Orthodox Jewish philosopher, born in 1903. His academic pursuits were diverse, and he held professorships in biochemistry, organic chemistry, and neurophysiology at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. This multifaceted expertise underscored his reputation as a polymath, with a broad range of intellectual interests and capabilities.

Leibowitz was also recognized for his contributions beyond academia, notably as an editor of the Encyclopaedia Hebraica, a comprehensive Hebrew-language encyclopedia.
