Ibn Malka al-Baghdadi

Ibn Malka al-Baghdadi was a prominent 12th-century Iraqi scholar who made significant contributions to various fields, including philosophy, physics, and medicine. Born in Baghdad, Iraq, he was of Jewish descent and initially known by his Hebrew birth name. His early life and education were influenced by his Jewish roots, and he was later given the name Nathanel by one of his pupils.

As a renowned intellectual, Ibn Malka al-Baghdadi's work had a notable impact on his contemporaries, including the famous philosopher Maimonides, who was his junior. Later in his life, he converted to Islam, taking on the name Abu'l-Barakāt Hibat Allah ibn Malkā al-Baghdādī. Through his writings and teachings, he demonstrated a deep understanding of philosophical and scientific concepts, leaving a lasting legacy in the Islamic world and beyond.
