Yitzchak Meir Alter was a prominent figure in Judaism, serving as the first Rebbe of the Ger Hasidic dynasty. Born in 1799, he founded the dynasty in the Polish town of Góra Kalwaria, establishing a significant presence in the region. As a respected leader, he headed the Kupath Rabbi Meir Baal Haness Kollel Polen in Warsaw, demonstrating his commitment to the community.

Alter was renowned for his insightful Torah writings, earning him the title of The Chiddushei HaRim. His followers affectionately referred to him as Reb Itche Meir, reflecting the esteem in which he was held. Throughout his life, he played a vital role in shaping the Ger Hasidic dynasty, leaving a lasting legacy until his passing on March 10, 1866.
